Have you ever wondered the meaning of a broken rose on a memorial? Has a handshake symbol or an embellished cross caught your eye on a cemetery stroll? And what of those posing figures, angels and their many intricate details carved with such intention? Come learn the answers and start or add to your own jouney of understanding through Macon’s Rose Hill Cemetery 1840! We’ll dive into the meanings of common burial and funerary symbols seen in many cemeteries across the nation and world. Join regional guides, Shannon Scott, Megan Morgan and Macon favorite, Joey Hernandez in this inaugural “Symbols & Angels” fundraising tour of Rose Hill Cemetery! All proceeds collected during or later will go to furthering projects in Rose Hill Cemetery through RHC1840 501c.3 Attendees will receive commemorative poster art signed by your hosts and complimentary baked goods supplied by Twisted Sisters Bakery.
